I think The reason ByteDance name this social media platform as “TikTok” is that they want to echo its own name “ByteDance” or “douyin” - 抖音 -vibrato. “Tik” is sometimes referred to “Tick” since they are homophonic. Tik looks like an abbreviation of “Tick”.Jun 29, 2020
